About Us
Hi, I'm Chantal—the human behind Ouellette & Moustaches. I'm a certified cat behavior consultant working in Québec, across Canada (and sometimes beyond!)..My journey into feline behavior started long before I earned my certification. For over 20 years, I’ve shared my life with cats—observing them, learning from them, and yes, occasionally being outsmarted by them. I’ve fostered orphaned kittens, navigated multi-cat households, and always had a deep curiosity about what makes our feline companions tick.In 2019, after an unexpected job loss, I decided to turn that passion into purpose. I enrolled in a feline behavior program, got certified, and haven’t looked back since. Helping people understand their cats isn’t just what I do—it’s who I am.

As a certified feline behavior consultant, I specialize in helping cat guardians navigate common (and not-so-common) behavior challenges. My areas of expertise include:

The Little Human with a Big Heart - Charlie's story
If you’ve explored our website, you’ve seen the background images of an orange tabby with green eyes—that’s Charlie. This page is dedicated to him, my heart cat.Charlie came into my life when a friend found him in the woods, abandoned with an empty bag of food. Malnourished but full of potential, he blossomed into the most affectionate, chill cat I’ve ever known.For his first week with us, all he did was eat and sleep. Then his personality emerged:The little human who lifted his paws like a child asking to be picked upThe one who pushed glasses off counters just for funThe one who drooled happily when snuggledHe wasn’t much of a player—he preferred naps on my lap or the highest perch on the cat tree. At night, he’d sleep beside me on my pillow, resting a paw on my cheek. That gentle touch was my heart’s home.Charlie was a talker. We’d have full-on conversations, and I swear he understood everything I said. My daughter called him “the little human” because he seemed to comprehend us on a level beyond other cats.What struck me most was how he got along with every cat and kitten he met—fosters, residents, newcomers—it didn’t matter. Charlie exuded calm, zen energy that soothed everyone around him. He was the glue that held our little cat family together.When I lost Charlie after ten years, it shattered me. Ten years wasn’t enough. I still think of him every day. His pictures are on my phone, my laptop, and of course, this website. Every background image you see here features Charlie.Charlie taught me that true love for a pet is real. They’re family. They help us through tough times with their unconditional love.For anyone grieving a cat, I’d say:Feel the painTake your timeNever feel guilty for mourning deeply.They’re not “just pets.” They’re part of our hearts.Charlie would want you to know he’s happy and not to worry.
